BrainFit Gym Opening Hours and Registration Processes
The BrainFit Gym is open Tuesdays to Fridays by appointment. Interested participants will be forwarded a BrainFit Registration Form prior to being booked for an initial assessment. The registration process enables participants to determine if the BrainFit programs are the correct programs for their individual needs prior to committing to the cost of an initial assessment. People with any chronic condition may see an AEP one-on-one for private and individualised exercise testing, prescription counselling and support.
Chronic diseases include arthritis, asthma, osteoporosis, COPD, obesity, chronic pain and cardiovascular disease Type 2 Diabetes Management Exercise Physiology provides programs and advice based on the latest evidence based guidelines for the management of Type 2 Diabetes. Brodie Cambourne Exercise Physiologist has an interest in sustainable weight management and lifestyle programs for people living with Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease and other lifestyle related illness |
BrainFit provides exercise advice and programming for musculo-skeletal conditions and injury including cerebral palsy, stroke rehabilitation, gait training and Work Cover injury
We provide exercise advice specific to musculo-skeletal conditions and injuries including rehabilitation post-surgery. Our exercise programs aim to address the mechanical component of injury, retrain functional movement and posture. BrainFit programs also provide education on functional movement so as to assist clients to learn mindfulness with movement to prevent recurrence of injury. |
Brodie has been providing exercise programs for brain development and brain health for over 25 years.
Her experience in brain development and brain health programs includes working with new born babies through to 100 year old participants. Brodie has experience working with the many neurological conditions with a particular focus on the following 4 conditions: Multiple Sclerosis Parkinson's Disease Stroke Rehabilitation Acquired Brain Injury Dementia and cognitive impairment conditions |
Brodie Cambourne is experienced in working with participants who suffer from PTSD, anxiety and depression and understands the need for individual approaches to activities for each client.
Exercise program design for mental health issues may include outdoor activities such as Blue Therapy ( water based such as Stand Up Boarding or Kayaking) or Green Therapy (outdoor based). Clients are also invited to use our gym and programs are designed in collaboration with psychologists and mental health support to slowly introduce progressive exposure to group exercise using gym based rehabilitation or outdoor programs, Clients are also linked with online exercise support and monitored via these programs if they chose to exercise independently Read more |
The BrainFit Programs and Classes
Stand Up Paddling/Kayak InstructionBrainFit programs partner with Wooden Eye Stand Up Paddling to provide a water based programs that provide a alternative core strength exercise that can assist with improving posture and balance. It is also a great way to increase your vitamin D and a wonderful exercise for assisting with mindfulness and relaxation for clients who may be living with high stress, PTSD and anxiety. Wooden Eye Paddling is an Accredited Stand Up Paddling School through Australian Surf Instructors and offers stand up paddling groups and kayaking groups/ SUP and Kayaking is a great Blue Therapy activity and are used to assist with introducing clients to small group exercise programs without being stuck in a small room. Metabolic Health EducationThe Fiteracy Mini Education Sessions have been designed to help participants " unlearn" some of the myths around diet and exercise as well as other important health topics such as " how the brain learns" and " looking after your future brain health"
